Announcing the Top-Ranked Yakiniku Restaurants Chosen by 159 Local Residents!
This ranking is based on a survey by our local media project “Sumi2,”
created by the same team that runs “Tako no Ma,” to share the warmth and everyday charm of Sumiyoshi.
We asked local residents:
“What’s your favorite yakiniku restaurant around Sumiyoshi Ward?”
A total of 159 people joined the survey — through Instagram, our website, and even street interviews.
From long-loved local shops to stylish modern yakiniku spots, the results show the places that people truly recommend.

🥇 1st Place – Yakiniku Sanshin, Harinakano Main Store
Just a short walk from Harinakano Station, Yakiniku Sanshin is a top pick for locals who want that “melt-in-your-mouth” meat experience without the high-end price tag.
Their rare Kuroge Wagyu hamburger steak lunch (just ¥900!) is a favorite for good reason — juicy, flavorful, and surprisingly affordable.
The restaurant has been around since 1978 and is produced by the well-known Yakiniku Kojima group.
With over 990 Google reviews and a sky-high 4.7-star rating, it’s no surprise this spot took first place.
According to their official site, you can expect to leave full and happy for around ¥4,000 per person — not bad at all for top-quality beef.
🥈 2nd Place – Yakiniku Manno, Kitabatake
If you’re looking for somewhere a little more refined than your average yakiniku joint, Yakiniku Manno near the Life supermarket might be your best bet.
The prices are on the higher side, but many regulars say that for the quality you get, it’s more than fair.
One particularly loyal customer put it this way:
“There’s no such thing as a bad meal here. It’s the one place I know I’ll leave completely satisfied.”
In recent years, they even opened a butcher shop — some folks stop by just to pick up meat for home.
🥉 3rd Place – Yakiniku Shokudo Kadoya, Tsurugaoka
Just a few steps from JR Tsurugaoka Station, Kadoya is known for serving affordable, high-quality yakiniku in a relaxed, no-frills atmosphere.
It’s the kind of place where even a weekday lunch can feel like a little indulgence — especially with their tender cuts and generous portions.
Their ¥1,000 skirt steak lunch set is surprisingly satisfying, and the casual setting makes it easy to walk in alone or with friends whenever the craving hits.
🏅 4th Place – Yakiniku Emukan
With locations near Sumiyoshi Taisha, in Kohama, and inside Suminoe Station, Emukan has become a familiar name for many locals.
The meat is tender, the sauce rich, and the convenience of lunch service and station-side access adds to its appeal.
It may not shout for attention, but it delivers where it counts — flavor, consistency, and ease.
🎖️ 5th Place – Hanul: Premium Wagyu & Korean Cuisine
Located just a short walk from Abiko Station, Hanul offers a stylish and cozy space where you can enjoy rich-flavored Korean dishes and premium Kuroge Wagyu.
It’s one of those places where no matter what you order, you’ll leave satisfied — which may be why it’s especially popular with younger diners.
🎖️ 5th Place (Tie) – Takeshokutei
Located on the second floor of “Meat Plaza Takeshoku” near Sawanocho Station, Takeshokutei might not catch your eye right away — but it’s a true local gem.
It’s been around for over 30 years, and many long-time residents know it as a place you can trust for consistently good meat.
One recent review summed it up perfectly:
“No matter who I bring here, it never disappoints. That’s thanks to their honest way of doing things and their sharp eye for great cuts.”
It’s a bit on the pricey side, but most people feel it’s more than fair for the quality and care.
🏆 7th Place – Yakiniku & Horumon Shigeru
Shigeru is a classic, down-to-earth yakiniku spot that locals love for its simplicity and flavor.
Though the menu is small, each item is thoughtfully prepared — from the light, easy-to-digest meats to the thick-cut tongue that gets rave reviews.
Cold noodles loaded with toppings, generous portions, and a relaxed, no-fuss vibe make this place a favorite for many.
Some even call it “the best yakiniku in Abiko — maybe in all of Osaka.”
🎯 8th Place (Tie) – Gyushin, Nishitanabe
Gyushin is a personal favorite of ours here at Sumi2.
Whenever we talked about going out for yakiniku, this was the one that always came to mind.
The food never disappoints — even after years away, it feels just right every time.
Their signature “beef tongue steak” is thick, juicy, and fun to cut at the table.
We’re also fans of the Kuroge Wagyu rump — rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying.
🎯 8th Place (Tie) – Ajidouen
Tucked away in an alley in Abiko, Ajidouen is the kind of place that doesn’t need to advertise — it’s been quietly loved for over 50 years.
The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar, and the quality of the meat is always dependable.
It might be easy to miss if you’re not from the neighborhood, but good places find their way by word of mouth — and this is one of them.
With seating up to the third floor, it’s a hidden gem that locals may not want to share.
🎯 8th Place (Tie) – Danran
Located along Route 13, Danran is a restaurant that catches your eye even if you’ve never been inside.
The bold exterior hints at what’s inside — high-quality meat that keeps people coming back.
Plenty of reviews mention that they “only go here,” and some even say they’d rather keep it a secret.
From tongue to skirt steak, loin to harami, everything seems to be a hit.
📝 Enjoy Your Trip!
When it comes to yakiniku, no one wants to take a chance on a disappointing meal.

Wishing you a wonderful journey—enjoy your trip and take care!
You are warmly welcome to visit “Tako no Ma,” where you can join a hands-on takoyaki cooking class inside a cozy 70-year-old Japanese home in Sumiyoshi.
Here, you can make crispy-outside, gooey-inside takoyaki — just like the ones Japanese families enjoy at home.
It’s a relaxed, friendly place, and we hope you’ll feel the warmth of local Osaka hospitality.
